What's Happening
On January 28th, Giant Bicycles and BikeVentura distributed 120 brand-new bikes to Thomas Fire Victims for free. Over 50 volunteers came out to help build all of the bikes that morning, and recipients of the bikes were overjoyed. The Channel Islands Bicycle Club (CIBike) also donated and distributed free lights and helmets to people who lost their homes in the fire. There were volunteers from REI, Giant Bikes, Open Air Bike Shop, Totally Local VC, Ventura County, McConnells Ice Cream, the 805 Chromies and Square Wheels bike clubs, CIBike, The Ventura Bike Depot and The Ventura Bike HUB. Channel Islands Bike Club President Kate Faulkner with Joey  On Sunday,  The Channel Islands Bike Club (CIBike) is donating over $5,500 worth of helmets and lights to distribute to Thomas Fire Victims along with the 200 brand-new bikes donated by Giant. It's important that people getting these bikes can ride safely too! We Raised $720 for Thomas Fire Relief

What's Happening
While the Thomas Fire was ravaging Ventura County, destroying homes and seemingly out of control, BikeVentura called an emergency board meeting. We connected via our phones as some of us were miles apart, fleeing the area, or cut off from Ventura, we asked each other, "What can we do?" feeling at a loss for action. That feeling eroded quickly as we worked through a few ideas and ended up with one that we thought could help the most and help quickest - give a free BikeVentura membership to anyone that donates $50 or more to Thomas Fire Relief through our Website. Giant and BikeVentura Partner to Donate Free Bikes to Fire Victims

What's Happening
Giant Bicycles is generously donating 200 bikes to victims of the Thomas Fire who lost everything. The bikes are brand new adult Momentum iWant Park bikes. Ventura County provided a roster of folks who checked in at Poinsettia Park - and those that did can bring ID to the event to claim a bike. Your Old Bike can Make People Happy

What's Happening
This bike paid for: 2 hours of HUB staff time Pizza for Volunteers at our weekly Volunteer Night Wood for shelving at our new space on the Avenue Your old clunker hanging in the Garage, the bike your child has outgrown, or the bike you don't know what to do with after upgrading for Christmas - these are the bikes that can be turned into support for The Ventura Bike HUB. When you donate an old bike, we fix it up and sell it to cover the costs of making people happy.
